The Fragile Connections Conference (October 9, 2020) brought together two important events that also formed its program:
1. Award ceremony for the Most Beautiful and Best Children's Books of 2019
2. Conference focused on the value reflection of children's literature, which is published in Slovakia
1. Award ceremony for the Most Beautiful and Best Children's Books of 2019
The competition for the Most Beautiful Children's Books was established in 1990, and a year later the competition for the Best Children's Books was added, with the aim to support the publication of artistically and literally valuable books for children and young people. The organizers of the competition are BIBIANA, the International House of Arts for Children and the Slovak Section of IBBY. The art expert jury selects from among the submitted books for children and young people the most beautiful children's book for the past period of spring, summer, autumn and winter of the previous year. This award is given to an illustrator and a publisher. Similarly, the literary expert jury selects the Best Children's Book published in Slovakia in the previous season. The award is given to the author of the text, translator or compiler and publisher.

2. Conference focused on the value reflection of children's literature, which is published in Slovakia.
In the next part of the conference Fragile Connections, experts from Slovakia and abroad spoke (Timotea Vráblová, Zoltán Mátyus, Maria Jesus Gil Iglesias and others), who focused in their lectures on:
- the needs of a child reader
- incentives and benefits for healthy personality development
- disruptive effects on perception, understanding and interpretation
- negative phenomena in children's literature
