Call for Entries for BAB 2020 is opened!
Your animated movies for children and youth can be submitted to our BAB 2020 competition by online application form through FilmFreeway portal. Your movie can compete in these age categories: S (0-6 years); M (7-10 years); L (11-14 years) and XL (15-18 years). Deadline is April 30, 2020

Jiří Brdečka and Slovakia
As a part of the month of Czechoslovakian culture reciprocity, BAB has organized a lecture about Czech scriptwriter, director and artist Jiří Brdečka. It was organized with a cooperation of National Film Archive Prague (NFA) and Film and Television Faculty of Academy of Performing Arts (VŠMU). The lecture included the projection of movie called Gallery by director and artist Jan Meisner.

SLOVAK ANIMATION In memoriam evening dedicated to Katarína Minichová
On occasion of month of the Czecho-Slovak culture reciprocity, BIBIANA and BAB presented a collection of animated movies called “Slovak animation - In memoriam evening dedicated to Katarína Minichová”.This event was held with the cooperation with National Film Archive Prague (NFA), Film and TV faculty of VŠMU Bratislava (FTF VŠMU) and Radio and Television of Slovakia (RTVS).

Honourable mention for movie Ruddy the Scarecrow in Berlin, Germany
The puppet movie „Ruddy the Scarecrow“ made in Atelier BAB has won another international award. On the 28th international festival of young filmmakers REC Filmfestival in Berlin, held from 18th to 22nd of September 2019 in cultural center ufaFABRIK it has won the Honourable mention award from the kids jury in category: Young filmmakers up to 15 years old. Congratulations to the creative team of Atelier BAB for another international award.

Film RUDDY THE SCARECROW awarded the Golden Butterfly at the Festival in Tbilisi, Georgia
The puppet film RUDDY THE SCARECROW made in the children’s workshop BAB Atelier received the Golden Butterfly 2019 Award at the International Film Festival for Children and Youth in Tbilisi, (Georgia, May 29th – June 1st, 2019).
The International jury awarded the film Ruddy the Scarecrow the Jury Special Diploma for the Best Animation Film.

Film RUDDY THE SCARECROW awarded the Main Prize at the Festival ARLEKIN 2019 in Varna, Bulgaria
The film RUDDY THE SCARECROW received the Main prize for the Best Animation Film in the category of animated films at the International Film Festival for Children and Youth Media Arts ARLEKIN 2019 in Varna, (Bulgaria, June 8th – 11th, 2019).
The Festival is organised by the Ministry of Education and Science and it is oriented on media arts intended for children and youth.

Prestigious award at the Anim!Arte Brazil for the film The Greedy Fox made in the children’s workshop BAB Atelier
The film The Greedy Fox received two main prizes at the 14th International Student Animation Festival of Brazil - Anim!Arte 2018.
The international jury awarded the film with the 1st place Best Film prize and the in the 1st place Best Film Europe prize in the category “International Students – Mini”.
The Greedy Fox was screened to a great audience of spectators in three Brazilian cities: Rio de Janeiro, Sao Luis and Sao Paulo....

YOUNG SLOVAK ANIMATION IN PRAGUE CINEMA PONREPO
On November 27th, 2018 there was a traditional autumn event in cinema PONREPO in Prague. On the occasion of the Month of Czech and Slovak Cultural Reciprocity and the International Animation Film Day, the Biennial of Animation Bratislava (BAB) in cooperation with the Film and Television Faculty of the Academy of Performing Arts in Bratislava and the National Film Archive (NFA) in Prague presented a selection from the collection of Slovak animated films.
