The Biennial of Animation Bratislava regularly presents the selected collection of films from the festival in Annecy - Best of Annecy.
This year and for the first time, BAB will present the collection of films that is intended for children - Best of Annecy Kids.

The Annecy International Animated Film Festival (France) is a unique festival of animated films in the world. Its existence started in the 60s of the last century and it is the oldest and most prestigious of all festivals of animated films. CITIA (Cité de l´image en mouvement-City of Moving Images) Annecy has been organizing this festival since 2006.
The international competition offers screenings of films made by using different techniques of animation - feature films, short animated films, films made for television and advertising and graduation films. Special programmes introducing important personalities of the world animation or some cinematography that have contributed to the development of animation are a part of the festival. In the last two years, there has been a new competition category – collection of films for the youngest audience. The best films of this category are presented under the name Best of Annecy Kids.
This festival gives famous world studios of animated film an opportunity to present their latest films and it also introduces the countries, in which animation is only in development. Festival guests can view film premieres, screening of retrospectives, exhibitions as well as unforgetable evening films projected upon the giant screen under the sky by the lake.
Projection of films is accompanied by expert discussions, conferences and exhibitions taking place in the whole town and in the Château Museum Annecy and there are workshops organized for all age categories, from children to seniors.
The most prestigious prize of the festival that awards the winners of the films taking part in the competition is the Annecy Cristal . The author of this trophy is a world-renowned native from from Ždiar in Slovakia Yan Zoritchak /Ján Zoričák/ who he has been living in Talloires in France since 1970.
MIFA – International Animated Film Fair has been an inseparable part of the festival for more than thirty years. It is one of the biggest film fairs in the world focused on audiovisual animated film production. It is intended not only for filmmakers, production and distribution companies, but also for TV stations and last but not least, for educational organizations.
The Annecy Festival offers a wide range of possibilities to present and promote the latest animated films and together with MIFA, they are an inseparable part of the calendar of major international film events.
