The 29th Biennale of Illustrations Bratislava invites
An eleven-member international jury will judge and evaluate 2,072 original illustrations from all over the world. Its members will present their decision on the awards (Grand Prix, 5 Golden Apples, 5 Plaques and Honorable Mention to the Publisher) at an international press conference held on Wednesday 4.10.

Ceremonial opening of the BIB 2023
Za prítomnosti ministerky kultúry Silvie Hroncovej sa uskutočnilo slávnostné otvorenie 29. ročníka BIB, na ktorom boli v divadle P. O. Hviezdoslava odovzdané udelené ocenenia. Záštitu nad BIB 2023 prevzala prezidentka republiky Slovenskej republiky Zuzana Čaputová, ministerka kultúry SR Silvia Hroncová a primátor hlavného mesta Bratislavy Matúš Vallo.

Author experiments in the book’s illustration and graphic design
Exhibition of young illustrators, graduates of the Bachelor's degree in Book, Illustration, Printed Graphics at the National Academy of Arts in Sofia. Those illustrations and book mock-ups have been created during the academic year 2022–2023 within the “task” named Author's edition for children with an alternative “spatial form”.

I come from my childhood, as if from some country
Prichádzam zo svojho detstva, akoby z nejakej krajiny. Pod týmto názvom vystavuje oceňovaná izraelská ilustrátorka Anat Warshavsky. Výstava pri príležitosti 30. výročia nadviazania diplomatických vzťahov medzi Slovenskou republikou a Izraelským štátom a 75. výročia nezávislosti Izraelského štátu predstavuje desiatky ilustrácií autorky zo štyroch detských kníh.

Polish Book Illustration for Children
At this exhibition, you don't even have to enter the exhibition room. A selection of 14 posters by seven contemporary Polish illustrators having participated in the BIB in the past — can be viewed and admired during a planned or just purely accidental walk in the Institute's windows. Free access (literally) “directly from the street”.

For the first time in Slovakia, you can visit the International Travelling Exhibition "We See Each Other!" — presenting a selection of 50 illustrations from the ten most beautiful picture books for children and the youth from 2022, having been awarded the "Panda Honorary" prize in China.

BIB International Symposium
After the pandemic year 2021, when the international symposium did not take place and contributions were only published, in 2023 the symposium will take place on October 5 –October 6, 2023 in the University Library in Bratislava. The theme of the BIB 2023 international symposium is: Fairy Tale Books (National Identity of Illustration and its Communication in the International Context)
