Filmové básničky a pesničky (Film Poems and Songs) is a long-running project of film adaptations of literary works for the youngest children by contemporary Hungarian authors. The project was created by graduates of the Animation Department of the Moholy-Nagy University of Art and Design (MOME) in Budapest.

In the most recent collection to date from 2017, Kortárs Gyerekversek és Dalok (Contemporary Poems and Songs for Young Children), recent MOME graduates gave original interpretations of selected works for children by contemporary Hungarian writers, using a variety of animation techniques.

Seventeen filmmakers, each with their own distinctive vision, created films that reflect their unique sense of humor and diverse approaches to storytelling. These short animated films, lasting 2–3 minutes, offer entertainment not only for children but are sure to delight many adult viewers as well.

For young creators, the project represents a unique opportunity to realize their first professional film—practically still under the auspices of the university. The films were produced with the support of the MTVA fund.

The exhibition presents visual artworks—film stills—from twenty-seven animated films. The lead dramaturg of two editions of the project (2013 and 2017), as well as a lecturer at the university, Ms. Rita Domonyi, curated the selection of images for this occasion.

The exhibition is a accompanying event of the 14th Biennial of Animation Bratislava – BAB 2018, an international festival of animated films for children organized by BIBIANA, the International House of Art for Children.
