BIBIANA – International House of Art for Children, together with the Slovak Institute, ceremoniously opened the exhibition UNITED BY ART in Prague.

The exhibition presents the work of two distinguished artists: Slovak illustrator Peter Uchnár and Japanese artist Nana Furiya. It reflects the Slovak-Japanese story of two artists and their shared creative journey, developed over three decades of occasional yet highly acclaimed collaboration, ranging from book illustration to independent artistic work.

Until June 28, 2026, visitors have the opportunity to discover the imaginative illustrations of these two internationally recognized artists, both recipients of numerous prestigious awards. The exhibition can be viewed at the premises of the Slovak Institute, Hybernská 1, Prague.

The exhibition opening was also attended by His Excellency Kansuke Nagaoka, Ambassador of Japan to the Czech Republic; Ms. Katka Šmalová, representative of the Embassy of the Slovak Republic in the Czech Republic; Mr. Volkan B. Tanyildiz, Vice Consul of the Turkish Embassy; Ms. Iku Dekune, recipient of the Grand Prix BIB 2003 award; and many other distinguished guests from the artistic community.

The exhibition confirms that although Nana and Peter chose a more challenging artistic path and did not build the exhibition around the unifying concept of marriage—which in itself is not a flawed concept—they instead opted for a more demanding artistic approach, in which two strong artistic visions harmonized into pure gold and were cast into a golden ring that is not worn on a finger and can neither be lost nor hidden.
