Bob and Hedviga - AT THE ATELIER WITH THE ILLUSTRATOR H. GUTIERREZ

Tin-Bob is the shiniest tin-can in the factory. He is definitely very proud of him, clearly seeing his "starry" future … He will be definitely filled with the most yummy fruit candies! But his conceitedness comes quickly to an end when learning that it will be just ordinary dog-food in the end. Moreover - an expired one.

CHILDREN´S JURY AWARD

In addition to the professional jury, the Children's Jury has been meeting since 1993 to choose its winner. It is interesting that she never agreed in her choice with a professional jury made up of world-renowned illustrators, art theorists and publishers. The members of Children´s Jury of BIB 2021 were: Elenka Lutterová, Helena Špačková, Karin Tvrdoňová, Ondrej Benkovský and Viktória Rusňáková (author of the Children's Jury Award).

BOŽENA PLOCHÁŇOVÁ, illustrations

The Bratislava Biennial of Illustrations traditionally includes an exhibition of works by an important Slovak illustrator. This year, a selection of illustrations by Božena Plocháňová is prepared for the visitors of the biennial.

HASSAN MOUSAVI, IRAN – GRAND PRIX BIB 2019

​​​​​​​Sayed Hasan Mousavi (Iran, 1983-), Iranian painter and illustrator, was born in a middle-class family in Qom. JACQUELINE WOODSON, USA HANS CHRISTIAN ANDERSEN AWARD FOR LITERATURE 2020

Jacqueline Woodson was born in Columbus, Ohio in 1963, and shortly thereafter moved with her mother and siblings to Greenville, South Carolina where she spent much of her early formative years in the care of her maternal grandparents. ALBERTINE, SWITZERLAND (HANS CHRISTIAN ANDERSEN AWARD FOR ILLUSTRATIONS 2020)

Albertine was born in 1967 in Dardagny, near Geneva. She studied at the École des arts décoratifs and the École supérieure d’art visuel in Geneva.
