BIB at the Beijing International Book Fair (23. 8. – 28. 8. 2016)
Slovakia was the guest of honor at the Beijing International Book Fair (BIBF) within the CEEC (an association of 16 Central and East European countries). The presentation of Slovakia included a BIB exhibition at the fair and presentations and participation in seminars. One of the presentations on BIBIANA, The International House of Art for Children, was given in the CROWN Plaza hotel before the start of the fair at the International Forum for Children’s Publications. The conference topic was publishing children’s books in today’s globalized world. Slovakia’s stand introduced Slovak books as well as Slovak illustrators. We also prepared BIB promotional materials, including the booklet Illustrators Who Won BIB 2015 Awards/ BIB UNESCO Albin Brunovsky Workshop, the BIBIANA Bulletin in English, the BIB 2017 Charter, Grand Prix BIB, and Slovak Illustrators Who Won BIB Awards. The exhibition and the promotional materials were received with much interest by the fair visitors. BIB illustrations were also exhibited in the children’s pavilion.
